My personal story
“What should I do? What’s my next step?”
I cannot count the number of times I have heard these questions throughout my career. Whether friends, classmates and colleagues at a crossroads, or family members coping with troubled relationships or illness, I am the go-to person when those around me seek answers to big questions.
Over the years, I have bolstered this natural empathy with a suite of tools that today enable me to offer personalized, actionable life guidance.
Why am I doing this?
I have a strong internal radar for people’s weaknesses and strengths, their potential and unique abilities. That comes in part from my own journey, which began when I came into the world weighing less than a loaf of country bread (900 grams), teetering at death’s door. Working since childhood to surmount a clinical case of ADD (attention deficit disorder) has also taught me the importance of accepting disability while at the same time pushing aside excuses and focusing on one’s strengths.
Helping others is part of my DNA. It is why, as a member of the Jalmay Association in France, I accompany people in hospice care during their last breathing hours. But to give is also to receive. The essence of a life often surges in these twilight moments, and sharing them has enriched my own life and made me a better coach.
For me, listening to others – really listening – is part of how I grow. Coaching brings me a powerful sense of purpose and happiness, values I pass on to my two young children.
My core mission is to help people navigate pain and challenges, however big or small, to find a successful path into their next life cycle.
I am humbled that so many entrepreneurs, managers and individuals in other walks of life have placed their trust in me. And I am gratified to have been able to help them overcome difficulty and boost their performance with deep questionning.
Who am I listening to ? Examples of profiles I have worked with
A brilliant entrepreneur seeking to overcome the crippling consequences of stress during important events
A VP who wants to maximize his impact during the first 90 days in a new position
A newly promoted manager facing difficulty in working with his team
A journalist who knew how to say ‘no’ at work but not in a harmful relationship
I deeply appreciate the generous testimonials from clients I have coached, and yet I realize they are thanking me for a transformation in which they did all the heavy lifting.
How do I make others benefit from your investment ?
I always coach in the hope that clients who have benefited from my tutelage will dedicate time and attention to someone in need or a worthy cause. But that is not always easy to do, which is why give 30% of my coaching revenue to carefully selected charities.
